Imagine Jamiroquai mutated with Sylvester, playing at full pelt, and then turning up the volume, Now add stage conquering personalities and an infectious knack of songwriting and bass heavy arrangements. You would have created a huge rock monster of a live act . Venue Magazine

And on the seventh day God holed up in Bristol and created this lot. Crafting a live tight party funk sound. The band are a legend on the circuit and have a enviable reputation as guaranteed crowd pleasers. Working round a call and return style of song writing. The sound is rocky edgy funk with strong dance elements, its definitely not sit on your arse music. Superb vocals and sound musicianship

I have a message board called Brooksider, (for people who used to like Brookside, but really hated it in the last five years - it's a specialist thing, obviously.) The two dozen or so of us that are left share music discoveries as well as talking randomly about any old thang. Here's what I posted tonight... Lordy, I've seen many many bands in my time, and most have been adequate. Some have been very good. Some have been a revelation. Go and see Funkinsteins. They are from Bristol and they kick ass. I cannot praise this outfit strongly enough. Go! Go now! Take my car!............... I shit you not. What a miracle to see someone who became my ambition . Who did exactly what I always wanted to do in my head, (demonstrate excellence on bass, and look extremely happy and cool whilst doing it). It was a shock. I always pictured myself playing like Leroy (Leigh) Gorman and looking like Annabella Lwin, simultaneously. Then I saw someone who'd done it. And done it well. Couldn't be happier, I feel like a proud big sister. I didn't have the talent or the confidence, bur I'm really pleased that someone did. Nice one. And the CD's fine. Kathy Jones Swansea
